Bachelor Of Science Honours Degree In Property Development And Estate Management (BSc PDEM): Block Release- July/ August 2017


Candidates must meet the following requirements: 
To be admitted to the Bachelor of Science Honours Degree Programme in Property Development and Estate Management (4 years of study), a candidate must meet the following requirements:
Have at least five Ordinary Level passes including English Language and Mathematics.

  1. A minimum of a National Diploma in Town Planning, Valuation and Estate Management, Quantity Surveying, Architectural Technology, Building Studies, Agricultural Studies, Mining, Banking, Finance, Business Studies, Marketing and Management of Business OR the Real Estate Institute of Zimbabwe Certification or its equivalence.
  2. One year post qualification work experience.
  3. Additional relevant qualifications may be an added advantage
  4. In special circumstances, the Department reserves the right to carry out selection interviews.

Masters Degree Programme In Urban Design (MUD): Block Release-July/August 2017

To be admitted to the Master of Urban Design Degree Programme (1½ years of study), a candidate must meet the following requirements:


  • A candidate must have at least successfully completed an undergraduate degree programme in any one of the following disciplines:

Urban Design, Architecture, Rural and Urban Planning, Settlement Studies, Environmental Design, Building Economics, Civil Engineering and Property Development and Management and or in any related field in the Built Environment with a minimum overall pass of lower second class (2.2).

NB: A candidate with an overall pass of a Pass (P) Degree class would be required to havethe following:

  • At least One year relevant working experience. 
  • Submission of work experience portfolio. 
  • Attend a special selection interview.

The first block starts in July 2017 and ends in August 2017

Postgraduate Diploma in Public Relations

Entry Requirements

The normal entry requirement for the Postgraduate Diploma in Public Relations shall be a minimum of social sciences, arts or business bachelor’s degree of this or another reputable University.
Applicants should have a minimum of a year of work experience in communications.
All applicants must be proficient in basic computer use.
The programme consists of coursework that shall be completed in not less than 12 months on an intensive part-time block release basis.

Master of Science Degree in Journalism and Media Studies

Entry Requirements

To be considered for admission to the MSc programme, a candidate should normally hold an Upper Second Class Honours degree in Journalism and/or Media Studies or related discipline such as Communication Studies, Public Relations and Advertising.
Candidates with at least a Second Class Honours degree in the above areas will be required to have at least three years post-qualification practical experience in a recognized media house.
Candidates with any good first degree and a postgraduate diploma in Journalism and/or Media Studies or related field may be admitted into the Masters programme.

Duration of the Programme

On a full time basis, the programme will be studied over a period of 18 months of which a minimum of six months shall be dissertation.
On a Block release basis, the MSc programme shall be studied over a period of 24 months, of which a minimum of 12 months shall be for the dissertation.
A non-refundable application fee of US$20, in cash, must accompany the Application Form..
