NUST welcomes First Year students

AS the National University of Science and Technology (NUST) prepares to commence its 2018-2019 Academic Year, the institution will from 20 to 24 August conduct orientation and registration of its first year students.

The week-long programme is meant to help new students familiarise with University processes and facilities before the commencement of lectures on Monday 27 August.

The major highlight of the programme will be the welcome address by the NUST Vice Chancellor Professor Mqhele Dlodlo on Wednesday at the Ceremonial Hall on campus. This would Prof Dlodlo’s maiden speech to students since his appointment early this year as the third Vice Chancellor of NUST.

The week is expected to be a hive of activities that include Library Orientation for all students at NUST library in the City Centre. For Library orientation, students will go in batches in their respective faculties.

Registration of the First Years and returning students runs concurrently with orientation starting from Monday ending Thursday afternoon.

On Friday, Information and Communication Technology Services and Student Affairs are set to round off the orientation week with an address by their heads of departments.

After the main orientation programme, each faculty and respective departments will also run their orientation programmes. Faculty orientations include academic advice about courses and programmes, assessments, campus life among others.
