SECOND WATER INDABA: “ WATER SERVICE DELIVERY CHALLENGES FACING ZIMBABWE ”

N.U.S.T strongly believes that current water challenges facing the nation may be minimized by adopting scientific methods of water exploration, management, monitoring and utilisation. Taking cognizance of the current water issues facing the country, the National University of Science and Technology, NUST, through the Faculty of Applied Science and the Faculty of Industrial Technology will be hosting the 2nd water indaba. The indaba seeks to create a platform for information exchange between Municipalities, Catchment councils, Users and Researchers. The main aim being to identify both surface water and groundwater service delivery challenges facing the nation to guide ongoing research efforts. The first water indaba was held on the 13th July 2016 at Cresta Hotel, Bulawayo. One of the resolutions of the first water indaba was “All research efforts should be coordinated to avoid duplication”. It is also anticipated that at this platform researchers will form strategic networks to address this resolution and table further resolutions.
