Dean of Faculty : Dr William Msekiwa Goriwondo (PhD, FZ’weIE, Pr.Eng., MIoDZ)

Dr William Msekiwa Goriwondo is a registered Professional Engineer who holds a Bachelor of Engineering (Honours) degree in Industrial Engineering (NUST), a Master of Science degree in Manufacturing Systems & Operations Management (University of Zimbabwe) as well as a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree (NUST). He has a proven track record of technical, operational and strategic leadership, spanning over 20 years in Industry and Academia. He is currently the Executive Dean of the Faculty of Industrial Technology at the National University of Science and Technology (NUST), a Senior Lecturer, Researcher and an Engineering & Management Consultant. Dr Goriwondo is a Member of the Institute of Directors Zimbabwe (IoDZ), Fellow and Board member of the Zimbabwe Institution of Engineers (ZIE). He is an experienced Project Manager and team player with advanced strategic planning skills. A published researcher with over 20 peer reviewed journal papers and conference proceedings as well as several other technical newspaper articles. He is a passionate transformational leader with major research interests in manufacturing excellence, resource utilisation, World Class Manufacturing (WCM) and renewable energies. Prior to joining NUST in 2006, Dr Goriwondo has held several engineering and management positions at BP and Shell Marketing Services (1997-2003) as well as being Production Manager at Turnall Fibre Cement (2003-2005), before joining NUST as a Lecturer in 2006.

Mrs Gladys Tshuma Senior Assistant Registrar (SAR)

Gladys Tshuma is the Senior Assistant Registrar (SAR) in the Faculty of Industrial Technology at the National University of Science and Technology.    She holds a Secretarial Diploma  from Kafue Secretarial College, Zambia, a Further Education Teachers’ Certificate (Bulawayo Polytechnic), a Bachelor of Education Degree in Education Planning and Policy Studies (University of Zimbabwe – Centre of Distance Education, and Master of Business Administration (Zimbabwe Open University).  She gained 5 years experience in university administration at the Zimbabwe Open University when she was employed as a Regional Administrative Officer after attaining the undergraduate degree.   She later joined the National University of Science & Technology as a Senior Assistant Registrar in 2007 where she has been employed to date giving her a total of 16 years university work experience.  During the tenure of employment at both universities, she has sharpened her skills in the General Faculty Administration in relation to academic activities, personnel/staffing matters and financial/resource matters.

Mr Thomas Taapatsa : Senior Technician

Thomas Taapatsa is a Senior Technician who joined in the Faculty of Engineering at the National University of Science and Technology in the year 2005.  He has been involved in the establishment and running of the Faculty ICT Lab to provide services to the Engineering students. He has over the years provided hardware, software, networking solutions to the Faculty and University. He has valuable offered technical services which include end-user technical support, computer servicing and repairing, IT Infrastructure Maintenance and Security, network Installations and maintenance, software installations and upgrades.

Prior to joining NUST, he gained four (4) years’ experience at Kusihinga Phikelela Polytechnic starting off as a Lecturer in the department of Information Technology and later as the head the ICT Unit under the Computer IT enhancement program (CITEP), which focused on the development of capacity to maintain and manage ICT equipment and strategies for effective use of ICTs in the colleges.
