 The Department of Agricultural Information Technology, part of the Faculty of Agriculture and Technology, specializes in the intersection of agriculture and cutting-edge information technologies. The department is committed to advancing agricultural practices through the use of data science, automation, Geographic Information Systems (GIS), remote sensing, and precision farming techniques. By blending technology with traditional agricultural knowledge, the department prepares students to become leaders in modern agricultural practices, addressing global challenges such as food security, climate change, and resource management. Students engage in hands-on learning, research, and innovation, making them proficient in leveraging technology to optimize agricultural systems, increase productivity, and promote sustainability. The department also fosters collaborations with industry partners, offering real-world insights and opportunities for professional growth in the rapidly evolving agri-tech sector.

BACHELOR OF SCIENCE (HONOURS) IN AGRICULTURAL INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY

Entry Requirements

 

Normal Entry:  A minimum of 2 Advanced Level passes in Mathematics OR Computer Science OR Agriculture AND any other relevant Science or Commercial subject OR Relevant National Certificate.

Special Entry:  Special entry may be granted to applicants with a Diploma in Agriculture or Information Technology or any related field from a recognized institution.

Mature Entry:  Should be at least 23 years old AND should have at least 2 years relevant industrial experience.
