STARS Blended Learning Programme

NUST is one of 12 universities from seven countries across Africa that is participating in the blended learning programme for early career researchers. The programme is specifically designed for researchers in Africa and is called STARS (Structured Training for African Researchers). The call for NUST Researchers to participate in the 2017 edition of STARS will be announced through the RIO office.

The programme consists of nine modules of about four weeks each, with each module consisting of a webinar, a tutorial and assignments. The module topics are:

  • Finding your niche and planning your research plans
  • Grant proposal writing  
  • Research project management
  • Time management
  • Collaborations and partnerships
  • Academic writing and publishing
  • Communicating research to non-academic audiences
  • Ethics in academic life
  • Supervision.
