Please be advised that due to the Population and Housing Census that will be from 21 to 30 April 2022, the 2022/2023 Academic year Application for Enrolment deadline has been extended to 6 May 2022. The late application deadline has also been extended to 13 May 2022. This Notice supersedes the dates written on the Adverts. Please note that other details pertaining to the Application remain unchanged.

Application Fee

Zimbabwean Nationals

An application fee of US$10 or the ZWL interbank rate equivalent of the day must be paid during the online application process.

 

International Applicants

The application fee for International Applicants is US$20.

The closing date for applications is 6 May 2022.

 

Late application

The deadline for late applications is 13 May 2022. 

Zimbabwean Nationals' late application fee is US$15.

International Applicants' late application fee is US$30

Bachelor of Science Honours Degree in Biotechnology

“A” Level passes in Biology and Chemistry and any one of Mathematics, Additional Mathematics, Mechanical Mathematics, Physics, Food Science, Crop Science, Agricultural Engineering, Food Technology and Design.

Bachelor of Science Honours Degree in Applied Chemistry

At least 2 “A” Level passes in Chemistry and any one of the following; Physics, Mathematics, Pure Mathematics, Mechanical Mathematics, Additional Mathematics, Statistics.

Bachelor of Science Honours Degree in Forest Resources and Wildlife Management

At least 2 “A” level passes in either Biology, Agriculture or Crop Science and any other Science subject.

Special entry: National Certificate (NC), National Diploma (ND) and Higher National Diploma (HND) in a relevant field.

Mature Entry: The applicant should be at least 25 years old plus have relevant experience in the field of wildlife, Forestry and Natural Resources. The Applicant may be subject to an interview by the department.

 

Bachelor of Science Honours Degree in Geographical Information Systems and Remote Sensing in Natural Resources Management

 

At least 2 “A” level passes in Geography, Biology and or Chemistry and 5 “O” level subjects at Grade C or better including Mathematics and English Language.

Special entry applicants must have National Certificate, National Diploma and Higher National Diploma in a relevant field.

Mature entry applicants who have completed a National Diploma in Geographical Information Systems, Geo-Informatics and Remote Sensing or its recognised equivalent may apply for entry into year 1.  Applicants are subject to an interview.

Bachelor of Science Honours Degree in Operations Research and Statistics

 

 

 

At least 2 “A” level passes in either Statistics, Mathematics, Mechanical Mathematics, Pure Mathematics, Additional Mathematics and any one of the following; subjects from Science or Social Science subjects (Geography, Management or Economics).

Bachelor of Science Honours Degree in Business Analytics

 

At least 2 “A” level passes in either Statistics, Mathematics, Mechanical Mathematics, Pure Mathematics, Additional Mathematics and any one of the following; subjects from Science or Social Science subjects (Geography, Management or Economics).

Bachelor of Science Honours Degree in Radiography

At least 2 “A” level passes in either Mathematics, Mechanical Mathematics, Pure Mathematics, Additional Mathematics plus Physics and one of the following; Biology, Chemistry.

Bachelor of Science Honours Degree in Special Honours degree in Radiography

Special Entry: A Diploma in Radiography or equivalent qualification with at least 2 years of clinical work experience. The applicant must be employed and practising radiography at the time of applying for entry to the programme.  Offered over a period of 18 months

Bachelor of Science Honours Degree in Sports Science and Coaching

 

 

 

 

 

At least 2 “A” level passes in either Sports Science and Technology, Physical Education, Sport and Mass Display, Sport Management, Biology, Food Science, Food Technology and Design, and any other A’ Level subject.

Special Entry: Candidates who have successfully completed a Diploma in Sports Science or Physical Education or its recognised equivalent may apply.

 

Bachelor of Science Honours Degree in Public Health

Special Entry Only: 5 O’ Levels including English Language and Mathematics. A National Diploma in Environmental Health or any other equivalent qualification plus two years’ work experience.

Mature Entry: Candidates who have suitable relevant experience may apply.

The Built Environment

Bachelor of Architectural Studies

(General Degree 3 years)

(Honours Degree 5 years)

 

A Pass at ‘A-Level in one of the following: Mathematics, Mechanical Mathematics, Pure Mathematics, Additional Mathematics, Physics, Art, Geometrical & Mechanical Drawing, Building Technology, Design & Technology and any other approved subjects at ‘A’ Level among those in the Appendix of the application form.

Special Entry: A National Diploma or Higher National Diploma in Architecture or Architectural Technology.

Bachelor of Construction Studies (Three Year General Degree)

At least 2 “A” level passes in either Mathematics, Further Mathematics, Mechanical Mathematics, Statistics, Pure Mathematics or Physics with a “C” or better and any other subject at “A” Level approved by the University.

Special Entry: Applicants must have a National Diploma in Architectural Technology, Civil Engineering, Civil and Construction Engineering, Quantity Surveying or Town Planning with a pass at “O” Level in Mathematics and English.

Bachelor of Property Development              

and Estate Management

 (Three Year General Degree)

At least 2 A’ Level passes in Geography, Mathematics, Mechanical Mathematics, Pure Mathematics, Additional Mathematics, Accounting, Economics, Business Studies, Management of Business

Special Entry: A National Diploma in Town Planning, Valuation and Estate Management, Quantity Surveying, Architectural Technology, Civil Engineering Finance and Business Studies; The Real Estate Institute of Zimbabwe certification or its equivalence. Additional qualifications and work experience may be an added advantage.

Commerce

Bachelor of Commerce Honours Degree in Accounting

·          At least 2 ‘A’ level passes in Accounting and any one of the following subjects: Mathematics, Mechanical Mathematics, Pure Mathematics, Additional Mathematics, Economics and Business Studies.

Bachelor of Commerce Honours Degree in Actuarial Science

At least 2 ‘A’ level passes in either Mathematics or  Statistics and one commercial subject.

Bachelor of Commerce Honours Degree in Banking and Investment Management

At least 2 ‘A’ level passes in Economics and any one of the following subjects: Accounting, Mathematics, Business Studies and any other commercial subject.

Bachelor of Commerce Honours Degree in Economics and Econometrics

At least 2 “A” level passes in Economics and any two commercial subjects are required.   5 “O” Levels with Grade C in English Language and a Grade B in Mathematics.  A pass in Advanced “A” Level Mathematics is an added advantage.

 

NB: Prospective students must be in possession of a laptop with a minimum of the following specifications: Core i3 processor, 7th generation, Window 10 Operating system, 4GBm of Ram with 500GB hard drive.  Applicants with relevant post-school experience and recognised Diplomas will be considered for mature entry.

Bachelor of Commerce Honours Degree in Finance

At least 2 ‘A’ level passes in either Economics, Accounting, Mathematics and any other commercial subject.

Bachelor of Commerce Honours Degree in Fiscal Studies

At least 2 ‘A’ level passes in Economics and any one of the following subjects:  Accounting, Mathematics, and Business Studies.

Bachelor of Commerce Honours Degree in Marketing

At least 2 ‘A’ level passes in Business Studies and any other commercial subject.

Bachelor of Commerce Honours Degree in Risk Management and Insurance

At least 2 ‘A’ level passes in Economics or Mathematics and any other Commercial subjects.

Bachelor of Commerce Honours Degree in Management

At least 2 ‘A-Level passes in Commercial and Social Science subjects.

Diploma in Management Programme

At least 5 “O” Level passes at Grade C or better including English Language and Mathematics, relevant Academic and or professional Certificates and Transcripts, a minimum of two years working experience or evidence of interest to run own business. A detailed Curriculum Vitae should be included with the names and addresses of two referees. The programme is offered over a period of 18 months.

Communication and Information Science

Bachelor of Science Honours Degree in Journalism and Media Studies

At least  2 ‘A’ level passes in English Literature and either Ndebele or Shona

Bachelor of Science Honours Degree in Library and Information Science

At least 2 ‘A’ level passes and 5 “O” Level passes including English Language at Grade C.

Special Entry: Applicants should have passed 5 “O” levels including English Language at Grade C or better. (“O” level Mathematics is an added advantage).

Bachelor of Science Honours Degree in Records and Archives Management.

At least 2 ‘A’ level passes. 5 “O” level passes including English Language.

Special Entry: Applicants must be holders of a National Diploma in Records Management and Information Science, Records and Archives Management, Library and Information Science or equivalent from a recognised Polytechnic College.

Mature Entry: Applicants must have 5 “O” level passes including English Language and Mathematics and must have demonstrated potential suitability for university studies by virtue of their attainments and or relevant work experience.

Bachelor of Science Honours Degree in Information Management and Technology

At least 2 ‘A’ level passes and 5 “O” levels with a C or better including English Language.

Special Entry: Holders of relevant HEXCO qualification, National Diploma or Higher National Diploma with Merit, Credit or Distinction may apply.

 

Bachelor of Science Honours Degree in Publishing Media and Technology Studies

At least 2 ‘A’ level passes and 5 “O” levels with a C or better including English Language.

Engineering

Bachelor of Engineering Honours Degree in Chemical Engineering

Bachelor of Engineering Honours Degree in Civil and Water Engineering

At least 2 ‘A’ level passes in Pure Mathematics, Additional Mathematics, Mechanical Mathematics, Physics and either Chemistry, Computer Science or Engineering Drawing.

Special Entry: National Diploma or Higher National Diploma in Civil Engineering or equivalent and two years of relevant working experience.

Bachelor of Engineering Honours Degree in Electronic Engineering

At least 2 ‘A’ level passes in Pure Mathematics, Additional Mathematics, Mechanical Mathematics, Physics and either Chemistry or Computer Science.

Special Entry: Relevant National Diploma plus 2 years working experience or relevant Higher National Diploma plus 1-year working experience.

Bachelor of Engineering Honours Degree in Industrial and Manufacturing Engineering

At least 2 ‘A’ level passes in Mathematics, Pure Mathematics, Additional Mathematics, Mechanical Mathematics, Physics and either Chemistry, Computer Science or Engineering Drawing/ Technical Graphics or Mechanical Technology and Design/ Geometrical and Mechanical Drawing, with O’ Level, pass in Science, Chemistry, English language and Mathematics.

Special Entry: Diploma or Higher National Diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Plant Engineering,  Draughting and Draughting Technology or equivalent and 2 years of relevant working experience.

Bachelor of Engineering Honours Degree in Fibre and Polymer Materials Engineering

At least 2 ‘A-Level passes in either Chemistry, Mathematics, Additional Mathematics, Mechanical Mathematics, Pure Mathematics and Physics.

Special Entry: Diploma in Polymer Science, Engineering, Fibre Science and Engineering or equivalent plus 2 years of relevant working experience.

Science and Technology Education

Bachelor of Design and Technology Education (Honours) Degree

 

The two-year programme targets non-graduate school teachers and related personnel in the field of education who meet the requirements for admission by special entry into the above two-year programme. Applicants must have 5 ‘O’ Level subjects including English Language and Mathematics. Applicants must be holders of a recognised Teaching Diploma or Certificate in any of the following subjects: Applied Art and Design; Clothing, Textile and Fashion Design; Design and Technology. Possession of a relevant ‘A-Level subject will be an advantage.

Bachelor of Science Education (Honours)  Degree

The two-year programme targets diploma holding non-graduate secondary school teachers and related personnel in the field of education who meet the requirements for admission by special entry into the above programme. Applicants must be employed as science, technology and mathematics teachers in secondary schools, colleges or related organisations at the time of applying. 

Applicants must have at least 5 ‘O’ Level subject passes including English Language and Mathematics, and be holders of a recognised secondary school teaching diploma in any of the following subjects: Accounting and Business Studies; Mathematics; Biology; Chemistry; Physics; Computer Science.

Applicants with a Primary School teaching qualification must also have a pass at A level in the intended subject of study or equivalent.

Bachelor of Technology Education (Honours) Degree

Applicants must be non-graduate school teachers, college lecturers, trainers, instructors and related personnel in schools, institutions, organizations and industry who meet the requirements for admission by special entry into the above two-year programme.

Applicants must have 5 ‘O’ Level subjects including English Language and Mathematics. Applicants must be holders of a National Diploma or recognised equivalent qualification in any of the following subjects: Civil and Construction Engineering; Electrical and Electronic Engineering; Mechanical and Industrial Engineering; Technical Graphics; Wood Science and Technology.

Additionally, applicants must have a diploma or Certificate in Engineering, Technology, Technical or Vocational Education or its equivalent.

Bachelor of Design and Technology Education Honours Degree

Applications are invited from qualified candidates wishing to enrol for the full-time four-year programme.

Subject Options: Applied Art and Design; Clothing, Textile; Fashion Design, Design and Technology.

Entry requirements: Two ‘A-Level passes including the relevant subject of specialization or its equivalent. Five ‘O’ Level passes including English language and Mathematics.

Bachelor of Science Education Honours Degree

Applications are invited from qualified candidates wishing to enrol for the full-time four-year programme.

Subject Options: Accounting and Business Studies, Mathematics, Biology, Chemistry, Physics and Computer Science.

Entry requirements: Two ‘A-Level passes including the relevant subject of specialization or its equivalent. Five ‘O’ Level passes including English language and Mathematics.

Bachelor of Technology Education Honours Degree

Applications are invited from qualified candidates wishing to enrol for the full-time four-year programme.

At least 5 “O” Levels including English Language and a Science subject

A Registered General Nurse with a Diploma in Midwifery and registered as a Midwife.

Registered with the Nurses Council of Zimbabwe and have a valid Practising Certificate with 2 years work experience post midwifery qualification.
