NUST GSBS to Host Post 2026 Budget Indaba
The National University of Science and Technology’s Graduate School of Business Sciences has announced that it is hosting a 2026 Business Indaba, to unpack the 2026 National Budget. This premier gathering of economic minds slated for 27 February 2026 at the Professor Phinias M. Makhurane Technovation Centre, is scheduled to host the Minister of Finance, Economic Development, and Investment Promotion, Honourable Professor Mthuli Ncube, as Guest of Honour, under the theme “Aligning the 2026 Budget with National Development Strategy 2 for Inclusive Growth and Vision 2030.”
The high-level symposium will bring together captains of industry, business consortiums from both the private and public sectors, and individuals committed to sustainable business growth. The event will also be graced by other senior officials from the Ministry of Finance, Economic Development, and Investment Promotion to provide direct insight into the nation’s fiscal direction.
Professor Gwendolyn V. Nani, Director of the Graduate School of Business Sciences (GSBS), explained that the Indaba seeks to clarify the 2026 Zimbabwe Budget in the context of the Sustainable Development Goals and Vision 2030.
“The forum will strengthen collaboration and foster dialogue among businesses, government bodies, civil society, investors, and academia, while serving as a platform for knowledge-sharing and exploration of critical issues affecting the business environment.” She said. “By focusing on these objectives, the institution aims to unlock potential, drive growth, and promote sustainable economic development for both participating businesses and the wider community.”
By hosting this Indaba, NUST is not only heeding long-standing calls for academic institutions to actively collaborate with industry and government in addressing Zimbabwe’s economic and developmental challenges. Through this platform, NUST is demonstrating how universities can move beyond the lecture halls to become catalysts for dialogue, shaping policy understanding and influencing its effective implementation. This initiative reflects the institution’s commitment to ensuring that knowledge creation is not confined to theory, but translated into practical solutions that drive national progress.
