Bulawayo, Zimbabwe — The National University of Science and Technology (NUST) has announced the date for its much-anticipated 2025 Annual Golf Tournament, Bulawayo Edition, scheduled for Saturday, July 26 at the Harry Allen Golf Course. But this isn’t just about tee shots and trophies, this year's tournament rallies behind a bigger mission: revitalising the iconic JM Nkomo Ekusileni Hospital.
Dubbed “Golf for a Cause”, the event fuses sport, corporate engagement, and philanthropy to mobilise funds for operationalising the hospital, a legacy project envisioned by the late former Vice President Dr. Joshua Nkomo. The institution is set to be transformed into a specialist medical training and research facility under NUST’s leadership, a move expected to reshape Zimbabwe’s healthcare and academic landscape.
University officials have emphasised that this isn’t merely a sporting event, but a bold step in honouring national heritage while contributing to the nation’s future. “Every putt on the green moves us closer to a healthier Zimbabwe”.
Golfers of all levels, from amateurs to corporate giants, are encouraged to participate in what promises to be a spirited day of camaraderie, competition, and community commitment.
