The National University of Science and Technology (NUST) Student Representative Council(SRC) has launched an initiative called Charity At Home (CAH) meant to support underprivileged students with monetary and food donations.
In a statement the SRC said they saw it fit to help underprivileged students at NUST so as to foster and nurture the spirit of togetherness.
SRC Minister of Clubs and Societies, Robert Selemani said “ It’s of paramount importance for us as the NUST community to be there for each other during needy times. The CAH’s primary aim is to assist our fellow students who are struggling to provide themselves with at least a decent meal due to these economic hardships.”
“ We are appealing to the NUST Community to support this initiative through donating either money or any imperishable food items in any amount,” Selemani added.
Last year in a congratulatory meeting, the Vice Chancellor, Professor Mqhele Dlodlo urged the SRC to be innovative and think in other terms especially when considering the economic climate.
