NUST student hails YALI/MANDELA FELLOWSHIP and UNLEASH

A National University of Science and Technology student has hailed her recent participation at the Mandela Washington Fellowship programme for Young African Leaders in the USA as professionally rewarding and fulfilling.

Peace Muusha, an Industrial and Manufacturing Engineering student at NUST was one of the 700 participants who attended the six-week training at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln in the USA from the 19th of July 2019 to the fourth of August 2019.

“I have found these opportunities to be personally rewarding and professionally fulfilling. They equipped me with strategies, tools or resources that I can immediately implement for the development of my entrepreneurial and leadership capabilities,” she noted.

“Moreover, they did not only give me great incentive to change long-held beliefs and behaviors I have but they provided a platform to discover new opportunities in every aspect of business,” said Muusha.

The Mandela Washington Fellowship for Young African Leaders is a flagship programme of the Young African Leaders Initiative (YALI), which begun in 2014 and empowers young leaders through leadership training and networking.

Muusha was also part of UNLEASH from the fourth of November 2019 to the 15th of November 2019 which is a global innovation lab that seeks to  bring people from all over the world to gain their personal insights and build long lasting networks around the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and provide sustainable solutions to achieving the SDGs by 2030.

UNLEASH is a non-profit that  was started in 2017 and previously held in Denmark and Singapore and this year it was held in Shenzhen, China
