ENROLMENT FOR PhD BY RESEARCH AT GRADUATE SCHOOL OF BUSINESS SCIENCES
The University wishes to advise prospective students about the introduction of an Open System enrolment of students to do PhD studies by research at its Graduate School of Business Sciences in the two areas stated below:
PhD in BUSINESS ADMINISTRATION DEGREE &
PhD in AFRICAN LEADERSHIP DEVELOPMENT DEGREE
Duration: Minimum – 3 Years
Maximum – 8 Years
Commencement of the Programme: The Programme will commence at any time of the University calendar year.
Course Fees: Will be advised to students who meet the enrolment criteria.
Eligibility for Registration
Applicants must satisfy the following admission requirements.
- Prospective students should have a Masters’ degree or equivalent from a reputable and accredited university.
- An accepted Concept Paper in terms of the Graduate School of Business Sciences (NUST) criteria in the field of the research study chosen by the prospective students.
How to apply
If you are interested and you qualify, present your Concept Paper that covers the following:
- Topic
- Introduction and background
- Statement of the problem
- The Conceptual framework
- Goal, objectives/hypotheses/research questions
- Delimitation of the study
- Research philosophy, approach and design
- Contribution of the study to scholarship, business and leadership practice.
Should the Concept Paper be accepted, the prospective student will be required to submit the following certificates and documents.
- A Copy of a Birth Certificate
- Educational and Professional Certificates
- A Copy of the National Identity Card

This is an open Enrolment System, hence there is no deadline, as applicants shall be considered throughout the University Calendar year. Applicants should also note that, admission will depend on availability of qualified human capital to supervise students in their selected topics for research.
