NATIONAL UNIVERSITY OF SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY
The University seeks to recruit applicants with requisite skills and experience for the following post in the Faculty of Engineering:
TECHNICIAN/SENIOR TECHNICIAN (1 POST)
Faculty of Engineering
Applicants must have a relevant first degree in Information Technology/Computer Studies or equivalent, plus at least one year post qualification experience or a Higher National Diploma in Computer Science/Information Technology or equivalent, plus at least 3 years post-qualification experience. Good technical troubleshooting, problem-solving, interpersonal communication and administrative skills are essential. Possession of CompTIA Network+ or A+ certification, or knowledge of AutoCAD, or Engineering software is an added advantage.
Duties and Responsibilities
Duties and Responsibilities will include the following:
- Repairing and maintaining computer equipment in the Faculty of Engineering Computer Laboratory, selecting and purchasing equipment and consumables;
- Ensuring the security and safety of Laboratory Assets;
- Maintaining and controlling the inventory of Faculty Office assets and consumables, and setting up and installing equipment and software in Laboratories and offices within the Faculty;
- Providing first-line Information Technology-related support to staff members and students in the Faculty.
- Assisting in the smooth running of the Local Area Network and troubleshooting network problems.
